Immunotherapy is a recent revolution in the treatment of cancer patients who do not respond satisfactorily to chemotherapy. Unfortunately, it is not efficacious in all patients. Positron emission tomography (PET) provides treatment guidance and looks to accurately monitor the treatment process and assess its outcome. It is essential for patients’ care since it enables doctors to discriminate clearly between beneficial and harmful effects of immunotherapy.
