R2IBF, a company in Brazil, that produces radioisotopes and contributes to Brazilian nuclear medicine, signed a contract with IBA for the company's new plant in Mogi das Cruzes to have the most modern cyclotron in Latin America; a Cyclone® KIUBE. Cyclone® KIUBE, s a18MeV cyclotron with a current up to 300µA, and the capacity to produce twice as much 18F, in the same irradiation time, as the current cyclotrons in the country do. The possibility to choose the projectile energy from 13 to 18 MeV, will allow for the production of new isotopes.
