A tailored training program, jointly organized by IAEA and WCI, and focusing on the cyclotron-based production of radioisotope and its medical applications, took place in Korea from 14 to 25 November 2016. Fellow participants came from from Chile, Colombia, Jordan, Vietnam, Macedonia, Cuba, Indonesia, Malaysia, Iran, and Hungary.

The course took place in multiple locations: in Seoul’s Korea Institute of Radiological and Medical Science (KIRAMS),) during the first week and at the Korea Atomic Energy Research Institute (KAERI) in Daejeon and KAERI’s Advanced Radiation Technology Institute (ARTI) in Jungeup during the second week.

This two-week program was designed in response to the growing demands for radioisotope applications. Its objective is to support capacity building in developing countries in the field of radiation technology. During two weeks the course offered a comprehensive program with the expertise and experience of KIRAMS and KAERI.
