Diagnostic Reference Levels (DRL) serve as a practical tool for radiation associated health professionals to compare diagnostic imaging procedures and to determine whether protection and safety for patients has been optimized. DRLs are applicable to X-rays, computed tomography, image guided interventional procedures, or nuclear medicine procedures. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the International Centre for Theoretical Physics (ICTP) organized an international workshop on how to develop and use DRLs in medical imaging from 18 to 22 November, 2019 at IAEA.
