Role of CJK in Setting up Stable RI Supply System
The global radioisotope (RI) market has shown progressive growth, with expectations to reach 8 billion USD in 2017. Among the whole RI market, medical RIs account for about 80%. In particular, Mo-99, the mother of Tc-99m, covers more than 80% of all medical RIs. The amount of the radiopharmaceutical products derived from the Mo-99/Tc-99m was 6.84 billion USD in 2014. For the industrial RI sources, Co-60 and Ir-192 lead the market. Hojin Industrial Co. of Korea holds 15% of the world’s Ir-192 market.
